Thank you, Kip, for all your years of teaching confirmation classes.  With your help our confirmands, Staci Blodgett and Emma Johnson, finished their studies and were confirmed.  We appreciate your dedication and faithfulness.
 

Classes

Classes met Wednesday evenings, 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm at Church.  New confirmation classes will begin in the fall.

Material and Study Units

We use the Augsburg Fortress "Here We Stand" curriculum.  This is an interactive PowerPoint program that employs both the catechism and the bible for study.  The Confirmands say they loved it!

Confirmation in 2010

On Sunday, May 30, Staci Blodgett & Emma Johnson were confirmed.  Each girl read a beautiful Faith Statement before affirming their baptism.  We wish them the best of luck and pray they remain active members of Gethsemane.  We are very proud of you.

Youth Fundraisers

One of our fundraisers is a Youth Shopping Mall where you can go online and shop at some of your favorite stores such as Kohl's, Target, Wal-Mart, Toys-R-Us, Best buy, Old Navy and many more.  Our youth receive commission on products sold. 

Please click on the "Visit Our Mall" logo below to shop at our great new mall. You will find hundreds of stores and thousands of special deals and coupons in our mall. We get a generous portion of every dollar spent in our mall.

Another fundraiser for the youth is Heifer International, Ending Hunger, Caring for the Earth.  Go on the website www.heifer.org and chose a meaningful gift to give a loved one, and to help children and families around the world receive training and animal gifts that will help them be self-reliant.  Look in the gift catalog to see all the amazing gifts to give.  They are in all prices ranges and more than one person can go in on a gift.
 

   We have decided on the animals to purchase for our fundraiser from Heifer
   International – a flock of chicks, craft of honey bees, a pig, and rabbits. 

Our recent fundraiser results:
  Pretzel sales             $180
  Frickadella sale         $266

The Youth Group is planning a yearend activity with the money from the pretzel sales.  Invites will go out in July sometime.  The money from the Frickadella sale was donated to Vacation Bible School.  We hope to get some youth involvement for the August hot meal.  This will be addressed in the newsletter.

In September, we would like to plan a welcome back -- spark some internet.  We want to include 6th graders and up.  The Youth Group needs to find a mission and incorporate more spiritual get-togethers.  In the past, we have donated to the Heifer Project and the Haiti Relief for our mission projects.
